Filipa Botelho (b. Portugal, 1993) is a clarinetist specializing in contemporary repertoire based in Brussels.
She has graduated at the Universidade de Évora (PT), learning with Prof. Ana Maria Santos and Etienne Lamaison, where she obtained her masters degree with focus on music theater pieces, especially on Der kleine Harlekin by Karlheinz Stockhausen taking theater classes and collaborating with the actress Eunice da Silva on commedia dell'arte.
Since 2016 she is part of the Advanced Master in Contemporary Music (Gent) in collaboration with ICTUS Ensemble and Spectra Ensemble which has allowed her to work very closely with dance; she plays with ROSAS, collaborates with students of P.A.R.T.S. and since 2016 has been part of the dance company nïm, collaborating with the choreographer Naïma Mazic. In June 2017 she created and presented Paraphrase, Study # 1, a piece where the sound and movement equally inform the creative process from beginning to end.
Filipa is co-founder of Down The Rabbit Hole, an ensemble oriented towards the latest developments in musical creation, especially those involving new modes of presentation, that has performed in festivals such as Izlog Festival (Zagreb), Big Bang (Athens) and 2K+ (Serbia).
