4-year curriculum

docARTES starts with a 4-year doctoral curriculum, which consists of an ‘introductory’ year (8 sessions), followed by three subsequent ‘focus’ years (8 sessions). 16 sessions in total will prepare you to carry out your chosen artistic research project. All sessions are conducted in English.

After you have finished your first year of the doctoral curriculum, an interim evaluation is organised. This crucial 'qualifying hurdle' must be passed in order for you to continue the docARTES curriculum. This is to ensure that every student’s progress is scrutinised closely before excessive time has been expended in doctoral study.
