His music shifts between free and fixed structures, exploring combinations of written material together with guided improvisation and flexibility for the interpreters. e composes both for instruments and for electronics.
His work has been performed a.o. by the Asko ensemble, MAE (in collaboration with Leine & Roebana dance company), ensemble Klang, de Ereprijs, Atlas ensemble, Corelli youth Orchestra (Catalonia), ensemble Meitar, Musica Nova (Israel), St. George strings (Serbia), mezzo Akiko Kozato, bass player John Eckhardt. He has participated in various festivals: ISCM World Music Days (Antwerp 2012), Scheld’apen festival (Antwerp 2011), 19th International Review of Composers (Belgrade 2009), Tenso Dagen- festival for contemporary choir music (Amsterdam 2009), and Dag in de Branding (the Hague 2008).
As an instrumentalist (contrabass / bass guitar) he is focused on contemporary music and improvisation. He regularly collaborates in a duo with soprano Elisenda Pujals Picó (dedicated to contemporary repertoire and newly commissioned pieces); a duo with guitar player Roberto Garretón; and with the Israeli trio Hatzatz (with Maya Felixbrodt and Tomer Harari, electro acoustic improv with live video art). He has also played with a.o. ensemble Klang, ensemble Modelo 62 and with Orquestra de Cambra de Vila-Seca.
He studied composition and classical contrabass in the Rubin academy, Tel Aviv University, and in the Royal Conservatory, the Hague.
His docARTES doctoral defense took place on December 11, 2019 at Leiden University.
