Born in Belgium, Diederik Glorieux is a Belgian composer, conductor, and artistic researcher based in Gullegem, Belgium.
Diederik earned his Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy, Music Theory, and Composition at Lemmensinstituut in Leuven (now LUCA School of Arts) in 2001. He is a lecturer and research associate at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (Labo XIX&XX). As the principal researcher and realiser for the artistic legacy of composer Wim Henderickx, he has led major posthumous completions including Rejoice!, @Astra, Inner Life, the Accordion Concerto, and the Timpani Concerto. Diederik is the artistic director of stads[K]oor and actively conducts community and inclusive music projects, such as large-scale participatory creations. He was awarded the West Flanders Ensemble Music Prize.
As a PhD candidate in the docARTES programme, Diederik investigates how decision-making, ownership, and responsibility shift within co-creative artistic environments. By analysing nine case studies across posthumous realisations, personal compositions, and community projects, his work develops a relational framework and practical template to support makers and performers handling open or fragmentary source material.
