Barbara Varassi Pega gaf een concert op dinsdag 9 december 2013 om 20u00 in het World Music and Dance Centre, Pieter de Hoochweg 125, Rotterdam.
Op woensdag 10 december, dankzij de unieke samenkomst van een team van internationale onderzoekers en experten die deel uitmaakten van haar jury, werd een symposium over artistiek onderzoek, wereldmuziek en tango gehouden van 14u30 tot 18u00 in de Theaterzaal van Codarts, Kruisplein 26, 3012 CC Rotterdam.
This event, aimed at students and the greater artistic community, will start with a lecture by Barbara Varassi Pega herself on the outcomes of her PhD research. After this, each expert will have ten minutes to address a subject related to (artistic) research, (world) music and (tango) creation, or to his own research or field of expertise. The symposium will conclude with a round-table discussion in which students and other participants are invited to ask questions and join the debate.
The international guests include Gustavo Beytelmann (Codarts Hogeschool, Rotterdam, Netherlands); Prof. Dr. Edgardo ‘Chino’ Rodríguez (Universidad de La Plata, Argentine); Prof. Dr. Esteban Buch (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, France); Leo Vervelde (Codarts Hogeschool, Netherlands); Dr. Wim van der Meer (University of Amsterdam, Netherlands); Omar García Brunelli (Instituto Nacional de Musicología de Buenos Aires, Argentina); and Prof. Dr. Enrique Cámara de Landa (Universidad de Valladolid, Spain).
