Emil Gryesten, born in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1985, is a pianist with extensive experience as a soloist and chamber musician. He has toured in Europe, Asia, and the United States, and has received numerous awards, including first prizes in the Steinway Competition (Hamburg) and the Nordic Piano Competition (Malmö). His discography includes eight CD recordings, and he has produced numerous recordings for the Danish National Broadcasting Company (DR). In 2018, he performed his debut concert at Carnegie Hall, New York.

Emil holds degrees from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, and pursued advanced studies at the International Piano Academy in Como, Italy.

Since 2017, he has taught piano and chamber music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where he is currently assistant professor.

In 2024, Emil enrolled as a docARTES student at the Orpheus Institute, focusing on research into the role of metaphor in the performance of romantic piano music.
